Resetting HTC Desire 816G dual sim (Hard reset)

If HTC Desire 816G dual sim has a persistent problem that cannot be solved, you can perform a factory reset (also called a hard reset or master reset).
Warning: Factory reset will remove apps you’ve downloaded and installed, your accounts, as well as system and app data and settings. Be sure to back up any data and files you want to keep before you do a factory reset.

Performing a factory reset from settings

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap Backup & reset.
  3. Tap Factory data reset.
  4. Tap Reset phone, and then tap Erase everything.

Performing a factory reset using hardware buttons

If you can’t turn HTC Desire 816G dual sim on or access settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the hardware buttons on HTC Desire 816G dual sim.
  1. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then press and hold thePOWER button.
  2. Wait for the screen that allows you to choose the boot mode to appear, and then release the VOLUME DOWN and POWER buttons.
  3. Press VOLUME DOWN to select Recovery mode, and then press theVOLUME UP button.
  4. Press the POWER button to go to the Android system recovery screen.
  5. Press VOLUME DOWN to select wipe data/factory reset, and then press theVOLUME UP button.
  6. Press VOLUME DOWN to select Yes--delete all user data, and then press theVOLUME UP button. A message appears when the data has been wiped.
  7. To restart the phone, select reboot system now, and then press the VOLUME UP button.
